<p>Rudence: Rural Development for Economic Resilience is a scientific journal managed by FEB Pakuan University with E-ISSN number <a href="https://issn.brin.go.id/terbit/detail/20211008211080620">2808-4160</a>. Rudence publishes journals as an outcome of community service activities (<em>Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat</em>). This journal is a form of support for economic resilience through community businesses. Manuscript can be originated from lecturer or student activities. Rudence is published in January and July. <p><strong>ABSTRAK</strong><br />Kegiatan pelatihan bahasa inggris dan edukasi cerita pendek bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi, terutama dalam hal membaca, menulis, dan penguasaan bahasa Inggris. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis tes, yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran berbasis tes dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dan edukasi cerpen lebih mudah dipahami oleh peserta. Melalui metode ini, terjadi peningkatan yang cukup signifikan, dengan rata-rata kenaikan sebesar 74% dari semua kategori. Pelatihan bahasa Inggris dan edukasi cerita pendek di wilayah Cipaku memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan bagi para peserta, di mana beberapa di antaranya menunjukkan kemajuan yang cukup berarti meskipun tidak semua peserta mengalami peningkatan yang sama. Peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa asing dapat memberikan lebih banyak peluang di bidang pendidikan dan karir yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga maupun lingkungan sekitar.</p> <p><strong><em>ABSTRACT</em></strong><br /><em>English language training and short story education activities aim to improve literacy skills, especially in terms of reading, writing, and mastery of the English language. The implementation method uses test-based learning, namely pre-test and post-test. The results of the activities show that test-based learning methods in English learning and short story education are easier for participants to understand. Through this method, there was a significant increase, with an average increase of 74% for all categories. English language training and short story education in the Cipaku area had a significant positive impact on the participants, with some of them showing significant progress, although not all participants experienced the same improvement. Increasing foreign language skills can provide more opportunities in the fields of education and career which are expected to improve the welfare of the family and the surrounding environment.</em></p>Anju MarpaungMuhamad Rizky AinurrakhmanAgus Setyo Pranowo
